Is my Musa going to be OK?
This plant took a beating last week in our heavy winds ..... now the old and new leaves have brown spots on them. Is this plant going to be ok? I know the season is almost over, so I will not be too worried, as long as the plant will come back better than ever next year. I am going to store the Musa ...

Musa Basjoo - Winter Question
Ok, So my Musa Basjoo did not perform to my expectations .... I bought a new plant this spring @ Broadway and planted it in a large pot way back in April. It was my expectation to see a beautiful 8' tree come September, however, I currently have a healthy 2' to 3' leaf making machine .... not quite ...

Thanks for all the info - it is very helpfull. I hope this plant makes a complete recovery .... The new leaves pushing out now are a little larger. I have a new spear showing that looks to be thick and healthy - perhaps the weather we are having right now is really helping. I am planning to bring ...

Trachy - Why are my new fronds so small, is this normal?
I purchased the 1 gal. Trachy back in the spring from Broadway in St. Catharines. When I brought this plant home I noticed it had some serious frost damage and part of the new spear broke off and pulled out. I thought all was lost, but after some research (thanks to this board, and others) I decided ...

Late June Update ..... Musa, Trachy and Needle
Hi, I am really enjoying watching these "babies" grow .... I bought a young Trachy and Needle this spring, but have yet to plant them in the ground. I suspect I will keep them in the planters as I want them to grow large (I feel the only way to do that is by bringing them inside over the winter ...

Thanks for the info, very helpful. I will be sure to keep it watered, as it is wilting just a bit. The soil I planted it in is excellent, lots of "organic" matter for feeding. Do you think I will still need to add more fertilizer? I would really like to plant this in an actual bed, but I worry about ...
