Looks pretty though......
Looks like another one of those slow climbs out of winter this year-
wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't so spoiled from last year

I still think of your glowing lantern look, Jim, for your outside protection.
In our very rural area, these lights on at night can scare the deer and coyotes
From the highway a mile away, it must look like Christmas again here.
And since this is BC, where we have so much "government bylaws/interference", I'm surprised that I haven't broken some Dark Sky rule.
PS Jim...the older you get, the less you'll remember last year.

Everything seems to be on the up and up here (*knocks on wood). I hope the cold is just a quick dip..

Barb ... check your weather regularly every hour
![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
I've got Accuweather preprogrammed on my laptop and they do hourly updates for 24hrs. These last few days were clear nights wth -5C but its been constantly cloudy with -2C.
A cold easterly here again.... never get easterlies in our Summer = hot

hourly updates
Watching the weather f/casts is all I've been doing...since November
Nothing else to do except GLARE at palm seeds.
cold easterly here again.
-2C immediately transforms into +10C when the sun's shining, I bet.

That's MY forecast Tim?
Sheesh, didn't look that far.
SNOW wasn't the word I was thinking of...
AMENDED: stuff's going out under a roof, and covers / heater will be nearby.
This could be one reason for going on drugs...

Late winter is such a drag.
But at least the nights aren't that cold anymore.

I might be looking to uncover some palms after this weekend if the forecast holds.....
It was 97F in The Nainital enclosure the other day with steam pouring out when I opened it!
I would rather have them on the chilly side -rather than boiling.

Yeah, doesn't that smell weird on a coolish day to stick your nose in there?
The Washy would like that heat.

I've seen the Washy go to 117F-didn't bother it but not something I would want on a regular basis!
Could have some covers off by Monday if all goes well!

Mimicking the desert, but with humidity.

Probably more like Tues-Wens as they are saying more snow possible Monday....
We have had close to 2' in the last week or so I would guess but most has melted
so,maybe about 7-8" on the ground after more last night-sun is coming out now
so even that should be reduced pretty decently-getting closer though!
5-10F warmer in town here than that weather sticker say-it is in a low, snowy field north of town...
I may just go out and shovel that damn yard anyway!

It'd warm the soil when it's sunny.
Beats being indoors.

That's a lot of melting...no flooding I hope.
Tim and Mike, at least it's heading in the right direction.

I take the lids off the covers from time to time, it'sjust layers of blankets and pillows with a wire and plastic enclosure around the top. The top is just a grill cover. Anyway, they have been pushing up through the blankets and pillows knocking them out of the way already. Bad A$$ little plants they are...LOL

Accuweather's 30-day forecast shows our area with 3 days 50F or higher with the highest temp of 53F.........that doesn't sound 'well above normal'. We'll see which forecast is correct........someone's way off. Here's our 'hotest day' in March via Accuweather.
I just was looking on another site, they are all different. MArch does look to be chillier than last year of course, but still not impossible to survive. We have a few nights in high 20's/low 30's but that is palatable. At least there willbe more sunlight too... But let's also remember this in May, June July and August when the days don't go below 95 F and the nights don't get below 80 F and there is 98 % humidity in the air. Can;t wait for that actually!!! Bring it on!

Well, after a couple of weeks of fine weather, a fast system arrived tonight.
Within half an hour howling winds came from the NW (thanks Alaska) and pounding rain, temperature dropped like a stone.
The flimsy little Brahea armata "tent" started to tip over.
Raced out to right it, hail on my head actually hurt, but the palm is saved
Turned on all the C-9 lights at its base, also the two Washies.
Wow, what a storm.
The ground might be white tomorrow morning.

Sure is, Tim.
Only the hills were white this morning.
Still a very cold wind out of the NW.
We may make it to 5 or 6C today, half of yesterday.
Throw another log in the stove...
