Hi Barb,
Seems like they have a motive. I see climate change as positive not negative. Sea levels will likely rise another 10 feet or more so we better get use to it. Just think how bad it could have been if humans populated this earth when sea levels were 300 feet lower than current levels......now that's a problem.....we got lucky that sea levels will only rise 10 more feet or so.

could've driven to the island holidays...when sea levels were 300 feet lower than current levels

Saw on TV not long ago that the Atlantic ocean is expected to rise more than the Pacific.
With the population along the eastern seaboard, that could be a huge problem if true.

It's this page I don't understand:
http://sealevel.colorado.edu/content/re ... ime-series
Where's the legend? 'coz the colors certainly don't correspond to oceans.
Or maybe I need another coffee.

Hi Barb,
it looks like the legend only shows the small water bodies and does not include the large oceans like the pacific, atlantic, ect....

Don't think so Tim.
Think they need to add something like this:
"dotted red" "x" number of feet rise in ocean
"solid red" "x" number of feet rise in ocean
and so on.

Hi Barb,
are we looking at the same map? If you click on the various oceans you'll get a table showing sea level rise.

Interesting link Tim.
Recently saw a show where governments are mapping "new lands" previously covered in year-round ice, now (and soon to be) exposed for mineral development potential and, naturally, "defensive positions".
While other governments are formulating plans (some of them already built) to protect cities via hydraulic dams; some even considering moving cities inland.
The flop Water World comes to mind.
Good luck with that, boys.
