I did some quick calculations based on the information provided in the article. The cost of feed stock after the subsidy would result in a cost of $2.10 to $4.20 per gallon. There is no allowance for other costs, electricity, water included in these prices. Then your vehicle would have to be converted to run on pure ethanol at a cost that will probably exceed $2,000. At their best estimate, producing 1,820 gallons per year you would save not more than $2,700 toward the capital cost per year and could lose over $1,100 per year. And you would have to burn 35 gallons of gas per week.

The only way that this would be financially feasible would be if you were running 2 vehicles plus drinking 1/2 gallon per week.

But then with a hand pump and a small hose you wouldn't even have to get out of your vehicle to get drunk.

I think I will get one.

Do diesel vehicles require the conversion?
Cool that you did those calculations, Allen.

You forgot to subtract what you'd save by going to the liquor store each week.
That'd lower my cost to a buck a gallon

Nah.

You would just have to buy a gasoline engine drop it in and convert it.

Actually, I don't know if you would need a conversion kit on any vehicle. It just sounded plausible.
