Lets just say that if you could grow any palm in your (no matter what zone your in) zone but you could only pick one what would it be? I would have a hard time deciding between a washy and a CIDP. I would have to pick Canary Island Date Palm.
Regards,
Jay

That is not an easy choice. I'd pick a Bismarkia.

I would have to go with a coconut palm. Nothing says palm tree like a cocos nucifera. Second choice would be Bismarkia nobilis (silver).

There is only one "boss of all palms" and that is the coconut.

I imagine if you asked someone from Hawaii, Mexico or the Carribean they'd say Trachycarpus. I'd have to agree Coconut palm would be the ultimate in tropical palm expression.
Cheers, Barrie.

It would have to be a Bismarkia nobilis #1 and very close second is a King palm (Archontopheonix cunninghamiana)
See you in the garden,

I would like a good sized jubaea chilensis. At least ten feet of trunk.

Yes the Chambeyronia palms are called flame thrower palms. There are a few different colors.
