Conservatory visit pics

Post by macario » Sun Mar 04, 2007 12:53 pm

Hello Mike here was bored so I took the kids to the Garfield park conservatory here in the city on the west side. Its the better of the two conservatorys we have. The other is in Lincoln park north of the zoo. They are both free to enter. If you live in or near the city you should stop by. Things are blooming.
Heres the link to the photo album

could almost feel the warmth...thanks.

Do you know the name of the palm in your pic P1010966?
Thought at first it looked like a Trachy fortunei? but the way stem growth occurs, doubt it.

Its a coconut palm. It still has some boots mid way on the trunk that never got removed probably from being indoors theres no wind to clean it.
