I don't know how I got this upstairs in "one" piece but it may be the last year it fits!
I started out barely lifting it out without
it dipping(the small pot was sunk in the ground)'
had to wrap a towel and a bungee cord around it.
Went to look for a dolly-no dolly.
had to put one hand under the pot and one on the bungee
cord and tip it back-I put styrofoam in between the arms to keep them banging together-when I got
it upstairs and went to remove the bungee cord
it was broke and fell off!-LUCKY ME AND the CACTUS!(-: anyway, its up here for now.
Probably 7'(second tallest arm is 6') or close to it in its little pot!

What a neat idea Jim.
Beautiful shots, especially the princeps.
Mine will have to wait until next year 'coz they're tied like a turkey.
Sounds like quite a trip up the stairs.
Next year wrap an old long winter coat around it, do up the buttons and presto, no death by thorns and no bungee cord needed.
But at 8 feet next year, you WILL need a dolly.

Thanks guys/gals
They really look surreal lit up at night...just think,a whole other half of the day to enjoy your garden!
The cactus really looked cool-definitely doing something there...if it makes it down in one piece,
what a beast this thing is and it needs repotting bad so it will probably put on 10' next year in addition to
the 6' it grew this year!
I do love having the plants inside!

Encephalartos Princeps flush coming along nicely...it will need some time outside in the sun soon though.
Looks like 4 new leaves coming-at the price of these plants,it is worth it to lug it up every night!
