For me personally growing this plant, this has to be the biggest leaf,it is already 3' long before its open and they just seem to swell and swell and
before you know it the thing is gigantic!

The leaf this is coming out of is a little over 4' right now.

Started to come out yesterday morning(-:

<a href="http://s297.photobucket.com/user/orbea6 ... 3.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm22 ... 8b3793.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 100_7050_zps478b3793.jpg"/></a>

Going to sprinkle some Princeps pics in too...of course.

<a href="http://s297.photobucket.com/user/orbea6 ... b.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm22 ... f6215b.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 100_7092_zps8cf6215b.jpg"/></a>

Jim's tiny Takil farm is taking on Iowa terrifically...these were planted last spring,I think 8 so far have come up,this year.

<a href="http://s297.photobucket.com/user/orbea6 ... 2.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm22 ... 528eb2.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 100_7062_zps63528eb2.jpg"/></a>

I planted this Cordyline 5 years ago,it is inside the cactus enclosure(winter) and comes back from the shoots.

<a href="http://s297.photobucket.com/user/orbea6 ... 9.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm22 ... d324b9.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 100_7089_zps58d324b9.jpg"/></a>

Needle "sucker" palm.

<a href="http://s297.photobucket.com/user/orbea6 ... 9.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm22 ... ff2289.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 100_7086_zpsa2ff2289.jpg"/></a>

This guy again...not a modest palm.

<a href="http://s297.photobucket.com/user/orbea6 ... 5.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm22 ... 8a8085.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 100_7091_zps9f8a8085.jpg"/></a>

Sago.

no idea they grew so fast!

<a href="http://s297.photobucket.com/user/orbea6 ... a.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm22 ... 22cb6a.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 100_7058_zps5f22cb6a.jpg"/></a>

Sabal Brazoria

<a href="http://s297.photobucket.com/user/orbea6 ... c.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm22 ... 079e3c.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 100_7083_zps25079e3c.jpg"/></a>

Brazoria's nearest neighbor is this Waggie,

T.Fortunei -this also had s-pull that is why the leaves are so compact.

<a href="http://s297.photobucket.com/user/orbea6 ... a.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm22 ... 77ffca.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 100_7080_zps7c77ffca.jpg"/></a>

<a href="http://s297.photobucket.com/user/orbea6 ... 5.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm22 ... 87ca15.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 100_7077_zps3a87ca15.jpg"/></a>

I'm gunna need one of those Y gloriosa var. whenever you feel like breaking a sucker plant off ...everything looks fantastic..must get a princep..or 2. You thai has blown right past mine..once mine went into flower mode it slowed WAY down and its just starting to recover and put out big leaves again..4 flowrs left 4 chances to pollinate it! All the ones you say S pull do you think its wet, cold, combo, lack of hardiness? It can't be any colder than say 20F in your huts with the lights on?

Thanks Mike

You are welcome to a Gloriosa cutting or two...

in regard to the spear issue, they are just young and small,
it really is amazing once they beef up how tough they are.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.
