I put the pen there for scale but the leaf makes it look an inch long.

Hard to get a good picture but...couple 3'+ leaves and one(below) that is just shy of 4' and still expanding.

Rose Mallow is still stunted by 2 years of drought but has produced some nice sized flowers.

Wow, a Maxima?? Never heard of anyone having one of those. How did you come to acquire one? and how big is yours?

Does that species sucker? I bought a tall fishtail on a close out, but don't know the species. It looks like a single trunk, but has one sucker out of the bottom. It's 8/9 ft tall and pretty cool....and for $12 couldn't pass up.

That is a great deal...sounds like possibly Caryota Mitis.

Caryota Maxima(Himalaya)does not sucker to my knowledge...

I just put out a massive leaf,another like that this season and it will have AT LEAST doubled in size.

It did get some WSM damage this winter/spring though.

I will get a pic of it today along with some others.

For sure-massive sail like flowers illuminated..almost transparent in the sun, the color really glows..
