are brown tips normal on newly planted needle?

Post by nucci60 »

:dontknow: Hi, the newbie finally planted his 3gallon needle palm in the ground. I dug a good size hole, used well mixed topsoil , humus with well rotted manure ( not too much) and sand for drainage. It is in full sun and I am watering it well with some superthrie in the water. the tip of two old growth leaves are turning brown on the very ends. watering problem or just getting acclimated?

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Post by yuccaman »

I don't know if its true but I planted a maple and we had 32C for 3 days and It killed it June. It came back in May. My hostas are not doing to good even in some shade.Needle palms like heat so I don't know its to lant to plant them. My small little White spruce is sun burned when I planted it in June 30.
