Jim - Amorphophalus are easy to take care of. They cannot be grown in full sun. THey need dappled light all day, partial shade. THey need to be planted deep, I planted 1 inch corns 3 inches down in a pot. I think the average is 4X the size of the corm. There is also one thing you REALLY need to take heed. THey will not survive, in any way, if they are stored to wet, be that be indoors for the winter, or experimenting outdoors. IF the plant gets soaked during the time its trying to go dormant, or when its dormant, they will rot within a day. THey need very, very well drained soil. I think Konjac needs to be about baseball sized, or grapefruit sized to bloom (I only know about 2 of them, and i have since forgotten the exact size).

I killed 3 of them. One was in the ground, in `badish`, sandy, fast draining soil, which rotted before the plant even died down, without ANY supplimental watering, and `normal` rain (im no talking shrivled into nothing, im talking, the bulb felt like custard). The other 2 (different species), were left outside to die back, then ut in the basement from december till february. They corms were solid when I placed them into storage, and again, I brought them up, gave hem a LIGHT water, ad they rotted in 2 days. They either froze, or, as a friend told me, they almost need to be bone dry while in storage for him, other wise they rot".

Ok.... so I guess "easy" is relative

I thought the palms look better this way too.....they really do
look a lot bigger and should be really cool looking in a few months.

Maybe not a bad thing to do a little trimming considering the dry weather of late....

You read my mind.
I saw Tim's (red arrow) pointing to the black marks on his magnolia, and your felt pen mark, and wondered how to do that.
Steve (KNNN) often has arrows added to pics.
I haven't a clue how to do it.
Getting too old to learn new stuff anyway.

Nice pics from a new angle too.
Thought all pachys bloomed white...wonder what the heck the seller added to get that little guy to bloom.
Doubt it's as simple as potassium?

Those little Pachys like Densiflorum,Rosulatum,Baronii Winsorii etc
bloom quite young and this forms their little trunks for life,they they start
layering with more heavely branched tiers each season.
