A vid of them cutting down the wild/native palms atleast before white-man was in the valley. (imo)

I have seen these palms and there is so many of them no way where they planted be the white-man. They say they all came from seed that came from a plam planted in 1911 I think? about 10 miles away...lol

Sad too see them cutting them down :x

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Absolutely assinine to cut those palms down to decrease a fire risk.
All they're doing is increasing the water temperature!

Here in BC, there's a huge push from government to REPLANT riparian areas on both sides of creeks and streams.
Results are already in: fish populations increased with the lower summer water temperatures caused by tree shade.
Shade also prevents creeks from drying up in summer heat, further helping fish survival.

Hard to believe that researchers/scientists would allow them to cut any of those palm trees down.

Disgusting!

It pisses me off when they use the words "restoration project" to describe clear cutting "killing" those beautiful palms. The old bait and switch tap dance from the so called experts in their field. Why couldn`t they just thin the palms out instead of carpet bombing them all. My rant for the day! :x

70 million dollars in taxpayer's money to save a little minnow like fish is absurd!

I put a little ad on Craigslist last year wanting to buy some seeds from those 900 trees that they cut down and they removed my ad in less than 24 hours!

Did you notice that the most significant population decline in those little fish was when the Federal Government bought the land in 2007?

I think the fish is worth saving, but I think they are just using it as a reason to cut down the trees. They have been wanting to get rid of these palms for years. The fact that after the palm fronds burned and no longer pose a fire threat it what is crazy to me. Now they are probably the best defence against fire sence they don't have the leaf litter.

Agreed...I belive the biggest threat too these are the Gov. They would be there just like they have for years if they just let them be. Other than they stopped the tilapia. That was good.
