Adenium obesum recovered nicely the next year.
Was just a stump in RONA's bone barrel.

I bought mine in 2009, and don't know how old it was then but it was in very sad condition.

Got well quickly when I planted it in gravel (yes, gravel, no soil, just some bark pieces mixed in with perlite).
Needs very very fast drainage like cactus soil, and I watered it only rarely.
I think the trick with succulents is to keep it in an unglazed clay pot, providing conditions similar to its habitat.

One thing I read is that when repotting, only increase the pot size by maybe 1 inch.
And raise the plant slightly with each up-potting, seems to build the water-storing base bigger.

Has only bloomed once for me.

Yours looks very healthy with larger leaves than mine, Godfryd.
Maybe the trick is a bit of abuse...near-death experiences often lead to blossoms.

Mine was a Musa Acuminata. I dont have pics, but I can tell you it was a stem, with a tiny leaf. I talked down the people there, and they marked it down to 5 bucks. I repotted it, and within a month it recovered really well. The 2 years that followed the thing grew like a weed. I unfortunately had to leave it in calgary.
