Needle Palm Questions

Post by sashaeffer »

Is it too late in the season to plant a Needle Palm outside in my area? (with protection) Zone 6ish

Can Needle Palms be made to grow in solitary trunk vs clumping effect?

I've seen pictures of Needles growing with a short trunk but not sure if they are a different species? or made to grow that way. I don't like clumping close to the ground plants of any kind, but would sure like to add a Needle to my collection.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

I have planted palms in Nov and Dec and they all lived.

If they are already outside and the roots are used to cooler temps this helps....

Water it in well when you plant it and then leave it alone(water-wise)until spring.
