Feathers trapped in Amber

Unlikely, but wouldn't it be something to find a portion of a palm frond in amber?

Great article, Barb. Amber is often found in areas around the Baltic, and many of these pieces contain plant leaves or seeds. So, I suppose a palm frond in amber could be possible!

Yes, and my imagination races to picture the late Cretaceous, when southern Alberta was a warm coastal region...some ~700 miles from today's coast.

I read this the other day. Its pretty awesome. Think too, they found that half preserved dinosaur that still had organs and skin on it, so things can stay around for quite awhile. Amber makes it so much more preserved then it would be other wise.

Please dont get me started on dinosaurs, thats the one thing I know more about then plants.

Yeah barb, if it wasnt for the rockies, the odds are there would still be an inland sea from calgary to my area, all the way to the gulf. Thats why its so flat and sandy. Also the reason why fossilized seashells are found here and all over the rockies.
