Here are some pics of how my 15 gal. Washy has done planted since May this year. The way it is starting to take off it should be a much larger palm by winter.

Very cool John.
Once they get established and get some heat
they really take off!

Mine are on leaves 7-8,I believe and I may actually
start watering them for a change as our 13 day forecast is looking
like this-95,95,100,99,98,95,91,98,98,97,97,97,97

They grow pretty fast. Mine are all in dixie cups and really started to take off a few weeks ago ( didnt like the transplant from the bag too much)... Your supposidly warming up out west. Im sure a few weeks of your usual summer heat and itll really take off.

Somehow, one randomly popped up in my garden bed. Im taking it as a sign. Im going to leave it just for fun.

Jim, Cameron this palm has been waiting 5 years since a seedling to be planted. If it does well with protection this winter I will plant more of them next spring. They are so much faster growing than a Trachy when first establishing roots.

Look nice.
My W filifera are in pots.
They are getting serious insect damage from grashoppers. Are yours suffering insect damage?

Erik so far so good as far a grasshoppers. I`ve had problems with them in past years. The problems I`m having with my Washy`s are brown scale brought on by ants every year. I Hope I`ll have pics of this W. filifera in the spring to post.

The pics finally opened for me.

Yours look so good John, better than mine.
Mine aren't "stretching", seems they're happy to just hold their leaves horizontally

Great specimens all around those pics.

Can't wait to see how the winter protection works...good spot for that.

Turns out the Washys only needed water (duh!

)
The sprinkler had stopped turning.
Didn't notice until we installed new sod in that area.
Their horizontal leaves are now standing up again.

I admit they've been neglected this summer; too darn busy.
Didn't even get around to fertilizing them.

The little y.rostratas are doing very well, almost doubling in size so far.

Barb nice to see the W.filibusta and W.filifera growing some. Give them some of your palm fertilizer and watch out! Another 12 weeks of growing weather yet. The second half of summer should be smokin hot?

Have you driven around to see how your customers' planted palms are doing?

I'm thinking of that property on the hill that you and I drove to.
They had the two small heated palm huts out front.
(and the unheated Papyrus

Barb I have not been up the hill to check on those three palms planted will soon though. Others that I sold last year made it so I`m hoping these ones did too. I`ll post some pics when I go up there.
