Southern Magnolia propagation

I'm trying to propagate some of my Edith Bogue branches.......I've had no success in the past.....any tips??

Tim- From what I've read you need to get current years growth once it's hardened a bit (i.e. it is not longer flexible). You then have to cut it (obviously), clean it (brief soak in bleach, ~30 seconds), rinse, then wound part of the stem on both sides. You can then put a mixture of fungicide/rooting hormone on the cut surface, and place in your propagation chamber. What's that, you don't have a propagation chamber? Ok. Fine. Then I would recommend sticking the stems into a mixture of 50:50 perilite:peat moss, moisten, then place in a clear bag out of the sun...

Pretty straight forward right? I've only done this for hollies (super easy) and Rhodos (more temperamental). Some So Mags are, apparently, easier than others, but I have no first hand info to speak from...
