Canadian weather facts
Interesting weather facts about Canada. Kelowna British Columbia is the least windiest city, and we have fourth hottest summer temps in Canada.Glad we don`t have to rely on wind power here. Odly Kamloops B.C. 100 miles north of here has the hottest summer temps. British Columbia has the wettest and driest climates in Canada. The diversity of climate of the second largest land mass country in the world amazing!

In many ways, BC reminds me of California
Large, on the West coast, with a wide range of climates, palms grow unprotected there, etc. One difference though is that California has around the same population as all of Canada!

Cameron there are parts of B.C. that are extremely similar to desert topography California. The Okanagan being one of those. Interesting that California has 37.5 million people in the third largest state with 163,696 sq. miles. In comparison British Columbia has 364,764 sq.miles and only 4.5 million. Nova Scotia has always been a province I`ve wanted to visit among others.

Thanks for the comment Paul. British Columbia has eight different climactic zones. I would think that is more diversity than any other province in Canada? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climate_of ... ia#Climate

John,
Interesting links in your first post. Cool info.
Re wind, the east/west valleys get more wind (like my place in a funnel valley).
Patio umbrellas routinely go a'flyin' here...
Just think what the Okanagan could grow with a bit more rain, and a bit less cold in winter.
Or Vancouver with a bit less rain, and a bit more heat in summer.
But it is paradise.
