Hi All,
Does anybody out there have any yucca glauca and/or elata specimens they'd be willing to sell me? The bigger, the better. And preferably, you'd be in Canada for ease of shipping purposes. Despite the fact that glauca is native to my province, it seems hard to find mature plants. Thanks! My rock garden desert is going in, in early May!

Duncan- You can try Tony at Broadway gardens... Not sure he has them yet, and they'd be gallon sized...
I have seeds (I think) if you'dlike to go that route. I collected these at c. 5000-6000 feet in Northern Arizona... Yucca elata var. veridensis.

A little nursery about a half hour south of Calgary. They went in my new desert garden today. I'll have to post you some pics!
How's the 'palm hut trachy'? I really think you need a nice big, already trunking rostrata-perfect for the Okanagan! Take care!

nice Yuccas! Those Yuccas you just purchased sure look more like elata than glauca. What does everyone else think? Can you find out where the Yuccas or seed was from (State, county)? All those filaments are a classic way to ID Y. elata. I'm sure some forms of Y. glauca can form many filaments but it's much rarer. If those are glauca.....you got an unusual form! You'll know for sure when it blooms!
