Dug up in-ground plants and potted 'em

Took most of the afternoon, but it's done!
Dipped each into a bucket to which Thrive Alive B-1 was added, hopefully reducing transplant shock.

I'm sure pleased with how well they grew in the flower bed this summer.
The Trachy Nainital (foreground, third from right) doubled in size!

Now I don't have to worry about winter temps.

Lot's of work Barb but rewarding just the same

. As a side note, I planted a T. fortunei 'Nainital' five or six years ago that size, and it's now over 7' tall, flowering for the first time this year.
Your B1 shot should do the trick.

I'm so impressed with this type of Trachy...no bugs, not a blemish.

OK Barb ... here goes. Nainital is on the right (tallest one of three). Originally smaller than the other two it's out preformed regular fortunei. I measured the leaves and they're 42" across so just under 4' wide.
My dogs Daisy and Mojo are always up for a photo.

Wow, Barrie, look at the GIRTH of that Nainital

Are you going to try and move one (or two) trachies?
Your pic underscores my point re Nainital fronds...not a bug, not a blemish.

When other Trachies lower leaves begin to yellow, the Nainital is still going strong with dark green leaves.
Mine's putting out another two fronds.
Yours has quite a bit of blue. Lovely.

Cute dogs, bet they enjoy the garden of Eden you've built.

You may have posted this last year, but what's your opinion on how many more degrees of cold a
Nainital can take versus regular Trachy?

Barb, to be honest, I couldn't hesitate a guess. Growers in colder regions (zone 7) than I'm in would likely have a better answer. I wouldn't imagine there'd be a tremedous difference.

So it could be that the Nainital is simply a more robust palm.
I remain very impressed with this form of Trachy.
