Hey Wes nice updated pics.
You know my FAV :D that gorgeous huge female fortunei .

I like the look of those large bark pieces, looks better than the bark mulch I have (which is half dust).
Everything looks good. Nice to see banana leaves don't get shredded from the wind if they're in a sheltered area.

Wow those cannas and hydrangeas...great colours.
And those kiwis and lemons (me, green with envy... :? )

The bamboo canes are lovely against that fence, nice colour contrast.
It was great seeing those pics.
Thanks.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Thank you.

Palmettoman, I have had my dicksonia for almost two years. They say it grows an inch of trunk a year so I guess it would be around 8 years old. Last winter was it's first and it lost some of it's fronds but most of them stayed green. It has produced around a dozen new fronds this year. It looks very healthy and likes where it is.

Aaron,
you have to try and get up here one of these days and I can shoe you around Vancouver. There are a lot of tropicals here now. Large Trachycarpus Fortunei is very common place now.

Barb, Yah I kinda like my old female trachy too. I bought it for $19.00 back in 1994 and it was around 12" in height. Everyone told me it will never grow here. I guess it proved them wrong. It now stands over 20' in height.

Oppalm,
Thanks for your comments. We are lucky here to be this far north and enjoy such a mild climate.

Yes it did but I kept it in a pot and did not plant it in the ground. It hasn't grown since I got it from you but looks healthy.
