Steve,
Any that are growing in water flowered yet?
I cut the lower leaves off mine which is over 3 ft tall now, because they were starting to look terribly brown over half the length of the leaf, guess what? they starting growing new ones again, right at the stem where I cut them off
Didn't know palm could grow another leaf.roght where yo cut them off at!!
I want to tell you all those seedlings that I have in water have lived now,for what about a year now,and are very green, but no growth at all, been giving them rain water but no fertilizer,do you think I will have to repot them in lager pots to get growth?
Sounds like they might need some nutrients, Do you have any aquatic plant fertilizer? If not, Sutherlands usually stocks some. ( not sure if you have those in Wichita ? Also , an air pump and bubbler will help keep the oxygen levels up.
My biggest problem so far has been the mineral build up on the foliage, besides cleaning up after the fish .....
with the rainwater, there nice and green, they are in 12oz plastic cups,I'm wondering if I was just to pot them up they would start growing, theory bigger pot bigger plant????
I have aquatic fertilizer tablets that I use for my water lilies.
I bought one for the fiter in my pond, but it didn't last long before it broke into pieces.
I might try that again for these palms,I used the Schultz's aquatic soil for my lotuses ,and will uses it again, but this time steal one of the wife panty hose, and fill it with soil then pot the palm and all in the aqautic basket!!!
