Planted this in the spring. Looks like I'm going to have to move it next spring...

Brahea hate root disturbance and react by leaf desication. However, your's is young enough and a recent planting so it may be less effected. It is looking good!

Cheers, Barrie.

I'd move the others and leave the hesper...great colour contrast with the brick and mulch.

How old is the palm? Did you grow it from seed?

Not possible. The tree you see to the left is a Hirado Butan pumelo which is about 15 ft tall. Before I pruned it way back you could hardly see the palm. I bought it as a 5 gal. so not sure of age.

Actually the tree to the left is a beauty.
Its leaves are lovely, at 15 feet it must bear a lot of fruit...do Pumelo taste like grapefruit?

Then your only solution is to dig that gorgeous hesper out and donate it to a Palms North member (kidding)

Hi Barb. The Pumelo is sweeter than Grapefruit, but does not have as much juice.

I agree with barrie,
Brahea Armata does not like to have it's roots disturbed. They are very difficult to transplant.
Great looking specimen though.

Barrie,
Did your survive last winter? I can't remember. Mine did really well this summer and had no winter damage at all.

Yes Wes it did ... after a serious set back. Three new leaves after being"stumped"

Cheers, Barrie.
