Turning into a nice Fall after a lousy September.
Some pics:
Virginia creeper & berries.

Sumac foliage & berries.

Echinacea.

Milkweed pods-unopened.

Vine and bigleaf maples.

Northern red oak.

Nice pics Barb ... Fall color is hard to come by here. Sure the Oregon Maple is one but even that is a yellow/brown and not overly appealing. Some trees (Alder) drop leaves with no color change, still green as they drop. 98% of the native forests are evergreen comprised mainly of fir, cedar, hemlock, arbutus, pine etc. The best chance at Autumn color is while passing a private residence where someone has intentionally planted a specimen for such purposes. And then there's me with all my evergreen Eucalyptus trees.

Yes, the real beauty of Eucs is in spring and summer (because of evergreen nature).

Your beloved Euc that split down the middle...did you tear it out or is it still hanging on?

Same with Okanagan colours...it's people's landscaping choices that provide Fall colours/contrasts.
After all, the brown hills are...well....brown.

There's nothing the colors of fall..very nice...

Barrie..thanks for the info on the potted eucs from Gus's homepage...got some great little tips etc...

I really dig eucs and have started 5 more 2 foot spec. that I'll overwinter this yr.

Barb ... not just "hanging on" but doing well. I cut the most obviously damaged branch and left the rest. New branching shoots are evident from the pics I've included (Eucalypyus pulverulenta). I just went out and snapped these pics.

PALMETTOMAN ... glad to have been of assistance. Keep us posted on the potted Eucs!

What a selection of eucs and cordylines..(and a nice pic of the old trachy)...

I always enjoy the BC pics because of the mixture of evergreens and hardy's

Here's hoping you folks get a nice mild winter...

PS: Yes..fall colors are about 2 wks behind here..almost no change on my maples, magnolias etc...

Barrie, glad you didn't tear that Euc down.
Its unusual shape and spectacular colour will be more striking with each year.
And with the other half gone, won't the remaining trunk become more vertical with each year?

Those pics of Tofino are a pleasure to view. The quantity of palms and eucs etc in gardens amazes me.
And that palm in front of that house! And so close to the chimney!
Healthy specimens...except the VW bus "too many smokes"

The cordys are great, and the Brahea colour is wonderful against the normal green backgrounds.
