Some of my perennials are in bloom:
Dwarf Korean lilac, a nice neat little shrub about 4 feet tall after 6 years.



And a Hansa rose, no mildew, no care, takes a beating from heat.

Just had to include this: 3 robin babies the day they hatched, and 4 days later!

Wes, that's just the run-of-the-mill honeysuckle (mostly a small shrub/vine).
It took years and years and years (15+, I think) to keep pinching out all buds to create and maintain a central leader.

A strong post in the pot got it training upright.
Once it was at about 8 or 9 feet tall, I transplanted it into the ground without the stake.
Each spring it still wants to put out buds all along the stem.
I just rub them off otherwise it'd revert to a bush form very quickly.

Palmettoman, nope, no scent
And the flowers last only about a week.

It was fun to do, but I cannot believe I was that patient in my younger years!
