Do you dig out the tender species in the fall? I see that Phoenix and think that would be a pain to protect!

I forsee you purchasing many wine barrels in the near future... Everything looks great. Is the second on the left a white bird of paradise or is it the R. Madagascariensis?

Paul no digging for the CIDP or anything in the ground. I will give it extra protection this winter. Jesse the wine barrels look good but cost to much for all the palms. I can now get plastic 50 gal. concentrate barrels from a u brew place here to cut and use for free next spring. Yes a bird of paradise I`ve had for 6 years. No blooms yet though?

Your Oak tree "circle" is sure turning out nice...imagine that in a few more years, wow.

Everything looks like it did very well this summer.

I see you've got a new hut design; great idea for keeping plants dry but allowing light in.
Easy to throw plastic over it in a hurry.

Congrats!
Barb

EDIT; Re BOP bloom. last year mine didn't bloom either because it was in the cold building ~10C max.
The only time mine bloomed is when I brought it inside the house in Fall. By Feb it was blooming.
Have brought mine inside again this time.

Barb the pics you see are from this spring. I`ll post the new ones I took yesterday soon. I would like nothing better than to bring the 13 ft BOP in the house. I`m thinking of how to raise the ceiling some how

Look forward to seeing the new pics, John.

By the way, BOP leaves are very flexible
It'd be worth dragging it in for one winter to see what colour the bloom is.

Mine was marked a "white" when I bought it...imagine my surprise when it bloomed the preferred blue/orange flower.

Thanks Barb. Lill said no way to making the ceiling twice the size for the BOP. I guess I will never know the species I have. Is there a way to tell? Anybody from P.N. forum? Blue orange would be cool!
