Cretan date palms from 1 gal size two years ago.

Euro fan palm from 3 gal size 5 years ago.

Butia, Saw palmetto, Livinstonia & Yucca.

Livingstonia separated from large clump.

Manambe palm. Will go into the ground later this spring.

Mexican fan palms from seed 5 years ago. Notice I trim all the lower fronds off a few times a year. This seems to force the tree to grow faster & replace the fronds.

Needle palms from 10 gal. containers two months ago. Also there are 4 Trachycarpus latisectus planted in between from 1 gal. this past fall.

Sabal palmetto from seed 5 years ago. Talk about sloooowwww.

Queen palm from 1 gal. two years ago.

Trachy, California fans, Butia, Cretan date and Saw palmetto.

Now for Barb. A few of my citrus...

New flush on Buddhas hand.

Flying Dragon seedlings.

Key lime flowering. This was grown from seed three years ago. Fruited for the first time last year.

Navel orange flowering.

Owari Satsuma flowering.

Variegated Ponderosa lemon blooming.

Very rare Willow leaf sweet orange putting out new growth.

Awesome pics again Laaz! You're going to have a palm forest on your hands soon enough. The citrus is looking good. Still no word on my cirtus order with Gregn.
I had left about 10 one gallon T wagnerianus palms out through winter. Two weeks ago rabbits or a deer munched them down to just stumps! They should regrow. I don't know why I didn't move them when I moved the others.

Craig : No protection for the Queens. There are quite a few in the area, they get some leaf burn below 20 F but always survive & we rarely get that cold, maybe once every 5-7 years.

Barrie : No Rabbits or Deer to worry about here, I have my guardian as always

Let me know when you sort out your citrus trees. You also have a very nice package of Butia & CIDP seed on the way if Canadian customs ever decides to let you have it...

Great pics. You will have a tropical forest happening there soon. I was encouraged to see the growth of you sabal minors. Four years and they have some nice mature fronds on them.
Your chamaerops humilis should love the extra heat that brick wall will provide it. The trachycarpus fortunei seem to like it there also. I find in hot dry summer locations they do not seem to do all that great. Like in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and San Deigo. They grow much better here than there.
I will be planting a waggie about the same size as your soon in my yard.
I like you find sabal palmettos sooooooo slow. Still not as slow as Jubaea but Barrie has changed my opinion of their growth rate and I will plant my seedlings in the yard soon. I just need to dig out another garden first.
I will post some pics of my yard soon.

Wes in my experience Sabal palmetto & minor grow about the same speed. They are native here & produce fan leaves within 2-3 years. They will be slower in locations that don't get the heat & humidity...

Beautiful, everything's growing so well so early in the season. Citrus blossoms are almost falling over themselves!
Man those are fabulous palms...sure grew like mad in a short time.
And a nice job spreading all that new pine straw ($150 goes a long way...)
Our sawmills give away bark mulch, but the haulers charge big bucks to bring it!

Gorgeous rottie...he'd make short work of a rabbit.

Laaz ... you have a beautiful dog. There is truth in the old saying about "man's best friend." Here's my two dogs, Mojo (Schnauzer-Poodle cross) and Daisy (Pure bread Schnauzer). They love to run down pretty much any thing that comes their way but the plant damage by deer and rabbit is done thru the night while they're in. I've seen 'em put the run on a deer that's 10x their size ... truely a funny scene. Fortunately our local Cougar and Bear are not seen regularly enough to be a worry. Those beasts could lay a serious beatin' on most any dog.
I'll keep you posted on the seed package, thanks again!

Barb ... those damned rabbits are quick, too fast for most dogs.

Here's my buddy, she's 4 yrs old. Today, though, I could'a been eaten by a cougar and she wouldn't have blinked. She was busy under the birch tree, hoping this beggar would fall down.
