Tim,
Sure...blast them into production with high P (N P K).
H has an acquaintance who has potted lemons, oranges, grapefruit, etc.
His trees give him fruit every year.
I'll give H the link to PN to pass on to him.
Maybe he'd be interested in joining PN.
So we can pick his brains...clean
Plus I'd love to see his photos.

Hi Barb,
it would be real cool if your H or his buddy would join PN to discuss the citrus. Perhaps they would be interested in growing some of these hardy citrus?
Have you ever tried Poncirus trifoliata?

Tim, there is a dicussion on the IBS site about citrus fert. Apparently its just high in P, while using iron, and it being chalk full of micronutients. It is also full of beneficial bacteria, since apparently citrus love high bioactivity in the soil. Heres the pic of the bag dude bought:

Notice Barb, its labeled for avacado too..... The best part is that it seems generally organic..

Its for sale on amazon for 12 bucks

H sees him infrequently, but I'll send a note to him on the next occasion.his buddy would join PN to discuss the citrus
I asked H to get some citrus fert advice from the guy last year because of his apparent huge success with potted lemons, limes, grapefruit, etc.
The reply (third hand

So hold off, folks, until I get a reply from him.
Nope, Tim, I've never tried Poncirus...but I had 2 Calamondin Orange for a few years before they croaked.

And I've got a 7 foot Grapefruit that's never bloomed.
Jesse, thanks for that fert pic...probably good, safe stuff because the numbers are low.
But it does promote higher P than N and K which follows the guy's advice.
I've been giving my Grapefruit palm special fertilizer, it sure greens up the chlorotic leaves.
But I had been keeping it too dry, even in summer, which is a no-no.

thanks for the fert tip Jesse............I think I have another 4 years before I see fruit on my Citrumelo???
Hi Barb...........let me know what your Citrus authority says.............I seem to be forming a Citrus collection with Pocirus, Citrumelo (Dustan & Swingle forms), Citrange, Hardy Ebay Citrus
, and a couple others which may be Taichang lemons. Hopefully I can keep at least one of them alive outside.
Here's an update photo from this morning........the leaves look better today than last week!

Yup, you have swung into citrus big time.

Re the citrus "authority"...hell, I should just cut to the chase and get his phone number.

I did receive some Yuzu seed but none germinated. I'm impressed with these Citrumelo's. The one outside 'should' be 'Dustan'. I'm germinating some 'Swingle' Citrumelos now and also some Citrange 'Rusk' too. Both of these are 'hardy' to about 0F or so.

Perfect, Tim!
And like the other one, the leaves will plump up in no time.
What's the potted thing on the right?

Hi Jesse,
