Mexican Fan Palm protection. Late Dec. check...

Post by sashaeffer »

My first try and overwintering a Mexican Fan Palm. I forgot to wrap it in burlap like my Windmills but today was the first time over freezing so took covers off all my planted palms to give them a drink( 2 gallons of water with dropper full of superthrive). That is what I use 2inch PVC tube for, to make sure water goes right to base of palm.

Wireless transmitter in one pic, but also have analog gauge as back up.

Yes Tim, it does look pretty good so far. Will be ecstatic if it makes it looking like that through the winter and hopefully will pick up speed in it's growth in the spring.
