Wish I could uncover them for a day...

Remote thermometer says it's warm in there!

18.6 is 65 F

WOW, that is warm. Not as much here...south of you.

I think it was in the 50's/10c here.

Aaron, we hit 52F 11C outdoors today; inside the palm enclosures was 18+C.

That 28C was inside my house...opened all the windows to cool down. It was wonderful!

Mine went up to 117F

Holy mackerel, Jim.

I can imagine you tearing the covers off

Barb, it's in the upper 50s here at 11 pm. Never seen it like this in early December. This year has been crazy from the start. Mid 80s in March with blooming trees by the middle of the month, 100s this summer with drought and now first three days of December will be near or above 60 degrees.

that was it's first year when I just put a umbrella greenhouse over it....
it took a lot of blankets to keep it warm but when it was time to remove them
that sucker got hot fast!-
Washys are pretty tough unless the roots are cold and wet.

Well, it does make sense that you folks in the lower lats (lower than Canada, anyway) will FEEL warmer winters before we do.
Just like at your place, I wouldn't mind if our summers were cooler, warmer winters is what we're all after.
Your daughter will want some snow for Christmas though, Tim

Lovin the warm temps here in nj too, 64 yesterday, 69 today and 60 tomorrow...no freeze yet to speak of here! Woohoo! Now I just jinxed myself I am sure!!! Devil!!

I know right, queen palms are still outside and so huge! It's like buying extra time against the spider mites. They are so tall now, They are the ones that usally get hit with mites and dry air since they are to tall to mist....

LOL, no, luckily Barb, our master suite has a 22 foot mansard ceiling with skylights, great for large trees

But you're missing out on building heated/insulated boxes.
Plant them outside next year.
