Mexican Fan Palm experiment

Post by sashaeffer »

Bought this at local nursery here in Omaha for $18 and planted this spring along south side of garage. Has heat tabe surriound the root ball and will build wire cage, insulate and use Christmas lights attached to a Thermocube for warmth. Hopefully makes it through the winter ok.

Pic after planting and then again on Sept. 30th

It grew twice as fast as the other two that I left in pots and just sunk them into the ground. Those I will pull up and over winter in greenhouse.
