Bought some more palms!

Post by Okanagan desert-palms »

I couldn`t turn down the deal for these three palms. Two Trachy`s, and one Butia capitata 600.00 for the three 8) . The one Trachy has 4 1/2" ft of trunk. It also looks to be either a hybrid Waggy x fortunei or T. nainital very stiff fronds with no droop on the ends at all. Any thoughts from P.N. people on what it is?

Wheelman you just don`t see palms for sale here at that price. The kicker was the T. nainital?

Ooooooh, John, very very nice palms.
That Butia is very special.

That must be your neighbour's yard in the background
You have no more room. :bootyshake:

And Doug, BILL MA has tons of huge Trachies and Waggies in Boston Mass.
And HUGE is accurate!
It might be worth your while to contact him since you're not clear across the country.

Barb the T. nainital? will be planted next week. It will take over my largest palm planted. The background is our yard cause I still have to mow 3/4 of an acre of it  .

John

You may need to wait until it puts out a few more leaves in full sun.

The untidy appearance of the crown is probably a good indicator of Fortunei
maybe with some Waggie "blood".

Thanks Jim. I was thinking that as well. Mike thanks. I put them into a double car garage. It is getting more packed every year as they grow. I`m glad I sold quite a few so far this year. Makes more room for the bigger ones 8) .

Hey, Mike, I'm sure John won't mind my posting these pics of his garage from my visit 2 years ago. Right, John? :bootyshake:

Good that there's a second floor...otherwise I'd have to climb a ladder:

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/southslope/3057123889/" title="DSC01975 by edible_plum, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3294/3057 ... 530d25.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="DSC01975"></a>

But a lot are outside in various places ...

You didn't mind me showing that again, did you John?????

And, yes folks, he's buying more...

(I'd better go duck...a brick might be flying my way).
