To the moon? Check this out!

Post by wxman »

I was outside tonight watering the heck out of everything. There's two things I do a lot of in summer -- water and fertilize. I probably water every other day in June, July and August. I fertilize my palms with Carl Pool twice (early May and July 4th) and then hit them with Miracle-Gro liquid fertilizer every week between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Here is some photographic evidence of what that does for your trachycarpus fortuneis.

This was a week after uncovering this spring. 3/9/12.

Here is tonight. 6/25/12.

Still three good growing months left!

You probably dont have to water as much this year, if youve been getting rain like Minnisota, and NW ontario. Im sure the awesome growing season so far has helped...

THats some amazing growth!

Looking good Tim

How tall is it?

The trunk looks like it's growing it's cut branches off.

Jim,

Trunk grew 12 inches since March.

canadianplant,

We're basically in a drought down here. I recorded barely any rain in the last 45 days.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

What is the liquid fertilizer formulation? 20-20-20?

How much water do you give it(gallons) and how often so far this hot dry summer?

It's 10-10-10.

I don't know exactly how much water. I just stand there with the garden hose until the soil is soggy.

Where did you get Miracle Gro Liquid 10 10 10? I can't find it in liquid form, only the pellets. I've looked everywhere

My two Trachy's have been moving very slowly to say the least. So after seeing what you've accomplished, I thought i would give it a try with some CP food. I started my 2 on some CP just a couple days ago. Still waiting for that growth spur with high hopes.

Actually mine is growing pretty fast, once that warm weather came it took off...and I haven't given it any good fertilizer. I'll have to try and get some CP and see if it takes off like wxmans. Speaking of, anyone know a good place/cheap to get the Carl Pool?

Not to thread highjack but how long should 50lbs of palm fertilizer last me? I have three threes currently, one inside and two out. Am I buying a ten year supply?
