The "excuse" was that they forgot to charge me shipping on my last order. They emailed me when I was in Belize and I said later. They emailed me again when I was in Costa Rica and I said later. I suspect they figured I was dodging them, and so wanted to pay up in person. I got my chance today.
Mom in parking lot with the car I drove from Oklahoma in last week, transporting two waggies to her:

Walkway from the parking lot:

Entrance to the "store" (a plastic hoop greenhouse):
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/drterdal/7498786556/" title="DSC_0018 by drterdal, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7122/7498 ... bacf_n.jpg" width="320" height="213" alt="DSC_0018"></a>
Inside the store, guarded by a cat:

Handsome Yucca for sale:
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/drterdal/7498794938/" title="DSC_0013 by drterdal, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7131/7498 ... 163e_n.jpg" width="213" height="320" alt="DSC_0013"></a>
Too bad my mom informed me she doesn't like desert plants.

She also said she didn't like Gunnera:
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/drterdal/7498802422/" title="DSC_0008 by drterdal, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8007/7498 ... 9410_n.jpg" width="320" height="213" alt="DSC_0008"></a>
so I said I'd hide it where she wouldn't notice it.

She didn't argue palms, other than to say W would not be pleased if I bought any to take back to Tulsa.
Here are a few of my favorites:
Chamaeadorea radicalis:
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/drterdal/7498791688/" title="DSC_0015 by drterdal, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7139/7498 ... 67bf_n.jpg" width="320" height="213" alt="DSC_0015"></a>
Acoelorrhaphe wrightii, a palm which I think has potential in zone 8b gardens with protection:
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/drterdal/7498793420/" title="DSC_0014 by drterdal, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8011/7498 ... 6a8a_n.jpg" width="320" height="213" alt="DSC_0014"></a>
Brahea, always a great choice for zone 8 and better:

Pleased to see Sabal "Birmingham" for sale. Mine from seed are about this big now:

Boxed Trachycarpus fortunei for sale:
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/drterdal/7498799464/" title="DSC_0010 by drterdal, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8434/7498 ... b29b_n.jpg" width="213" height="320" alt="DSC_0010"></a>
I plan to buy one about this size for my parent's beach house, probably in the Spring:
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/drterdal/7498796516/" title="DSC_0012 by drterdal, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8003/7498 ... 605f_n.jpg" width="213" height="320" alt="DSC_0012"></a>
And now for you Trachy-philes. This (and the next) were amongst several palms labelled Trachycarpus takil. I assume they are really "naini tal" but I wouldn't know the difference:
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/drterdal/7498809288/" title="DSC_0004 by drterdal, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7136/7498 ... 1479_n.jpg" width="213" height="320" alt="DSC_0004"></a>
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/drterdal/7498807652/" title="DSC_0005 by drterdal, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7133/7498 ... 80702b.jpg" width="332" height="500" alt="DSC_0005"></a>
Any thoughts? How does a consumer know?
