First Video update Okanagan palms
Here is my first attempt at a video update on how my palms and yuccas did this winter. Everything looked good until the last part of the video with my Yucca aloifolia. I might dig this one up and replace it with another I have.

nice video John. The palms look pretty good. The Yucca look good too except for your Y. aloifolia. The trunked gloriosa is what type?? It almost appeared to be a variegated form?

Tim it is a variegated form of Y.gloriosa. I bought two of these a few years back and will plant the other soon. Not sure of the specific type of Y. gloriosa it is. Not much of a test for it as it was with my W.filifera. palm enclosure. Where will the new growth come from on the Y.aloifolia? I hope it branches out from near the top? Thanks.
John

What a nice place you have John. The trachies are just awesome and so is everything else. Can't wait to see the July update.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Congrats on the video success John...good job!
I'm blown away that your Trachy is already showing seed pods
Not a hint yet on mine, despite being heated all winter
Gorgeous Sabal minor, very impressed it made it through first winter planted -12C 10F with flying colors.
Needle is looking totally untouched as well as the y.rostratas.
All the trachies are simply superb, John.
Hey, need a video of the other stuff you've dragged, pushed, pulled outside too.
The other 100...
Just think..soon you'll be able to get all your vehicles back into the garages
Send some warmth 35 miles north please.
Easily a full zone ahead of me.

John, everything looks perfect except of Gloriosa and Aloifolia.... What was a min temp under protection? Just curious why Rigida looks much better than those yuccas? It is supposed to be more fragile than Gloriosa and Aloifolia isn't it?

Barb I was surprised too that the Trachy is flowing already. I hope I get some females as well this year
I`ll take another video of the potted palms. Spring warmth is here just a little later than expected. Erik thanks for the comments. Videos are much better at showing the palms. Now I need a better camera! I really wanted the S. louisiana to do better here. At least their still alive. Igor I`m not sure why the Y.rigida did better than the Y.gloriosa and the Y. aloifolia. I thought just like you that the Y.rigida would be the one that was not as cold hardy as the others. It came through winter untouched. The temperature in the Y. rigida protection got down to -15c. I forgot to turn on the heat one cold night. Time to plant more Yuccas soon!

Hi John,
regarding your Y. aloifolia...........if it's soft and mushy it's a goner............hope it returns from the roots. If it's still 'hard' you should be OK. I've never had an unprotected aloifolia survive here yet.......always soft and mushy.
