I'm really excited about these..especially the B.eriospatha x Syagrus.
And after a four-hour soak, the Brahea nitida were already starting to push/pop.
Have never seen anything that fast!

I used some restraint
And it's also my second order this winter.
The Butia x Syagrus F1 hybrids were sooooooooo expensive.

How'd you pass up Licuala mattanensis Mapu or Iriartea deltoidea (Pacific)? I'm dissapointed in you Barb!

I know, Tim, I know...it was sooooo hard to avoid the "L" list of seeds.
And the "P" Prichardia Pacifica.
and a whole bunch of others.
But I need to eat this week.
There's a bit of room left here...
I doubt the dog wants to lose her bed.

Cats don't easily give up windows, especially on the south side.
They just use the plant pots as litter boxes.

Barb excellent choice for your new seeds. Those Butia Eriospatha x Syagrus. New palms to learn about. It looks like the seeds are floating? Or is it the camera angle. We use tin foil to stop the cats from using the soil in the pots as there personal crapper
. Look forward to updates on your new seedlings. Butia e. X Syagrus R. looks like a Mule palm only more pinnate IMO.

Thanks Steve and John.
None of the seeds floated for more than 10 seconds.
What blew me away was the B.nitida, in fact you can see one (2nd from the right) that's already popping.
4 hours after soaking they were all sticking out those knobs...er....a buttons.
Barb
EDIT: nice pic of that hybrid, John. Hopefull the hybrid receives the best of each parent, versus the worst

Yup, the Butia eriospatha x Syagrus glaucescens are F1.
John, the photobucket link you posted...do you know whose palm that is?
Are these hybrids the ones that were developed/grown in Brazil?
Saw a photo somewhere of about 20 or so palms grown in rows in a garden in Brazil.
Wondered if this was the hybrid.
