Hi Mike,

about time we got to see that new house of yours

Lots of super areas for your plants.
But I can't remember which palms you took with you, or did all go to the conservatory?

Firstly, great house, great patio and pool/BBQ area.
You sure DO need some privacy

At the fence perimeters, do you plan to install a bunch of, say, pyramidal cedars (close together) to create a wall of green from neighbors (all year round).

Your front yard stone planting bed is gorgeous.
Being close to electricity, any palms you want to install would look great there and also be protected from winter sun if you're using lights to heat them.
The east side (pool filter/a.c.) has great light for palms that don't like the heat of afternoon sun, and would hide that stuff.

There are so many nice planting areas, Mike, for tropicals...hope you get more agaves too, your bayonet was gorgeous in the last house.

I'd give my eye teeth to go plant shopping there... :D Did you ever find that tree fern?

Look forward to updates.
Barb

I did find a 2 places one in seatlle and the other in california with large dicksonia antarctica.

I am buying alot of musa basjoo from agri starts since there almost $1 each.

congrats on your new place. Your beds are set up nice but need some TLC (tender loving care). Your IG pool is great. Load up your yard with some great plants and post an update. (I'd plant loads of trunked Y. rostrata and Y. thompsoniana since your in a colder area.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Mike,

the best prices I've seen for trunked Yucca rostrata and Yucca thompsoniana are either:

1. ebay (Y. thompsoniana)

2. www.Select-seeds.com (need the hypen). Roger has a minimum of $250 and sometimes does not ship to people, so be nice. I think he likes to sell to nursery's but with the poor economy he may ship to you. Or create a plant nursery name .

I'd get the thompson yucca since it's a 1/2 zone hardier. Try both and let us know how they fair in your climate.
