January 8th, 2011 Update

Video update of my garden. Take note of the magnolia 'Edith Bogue'. Debating on protecting it until March 1st with a poly enclosure and heat.

Why so much damage thus far? Because it's the first year in the ground? Only had a few days in the 20s and two nights below 10 so far.

Don`t worry about your Edith Bogue. It will show burn after emerging from the teens, Farenheit. It is preparing for the spring shedding, and subsequent new foliage flush. Mine does the same every year. Only thing is we usually don`t emerge from these temps until late february.

Nice update Tim,

your Palms look toasty warm and happy. Your Magnolia looks OK.......I think it will be fine. Keep the updates coming.
