Heat islands in Chicago

Post by macario »

Today in the Suntimes they show Nasa satellite images from 2001 till now of the city of chicago. They show colored in areas on the map that are on average 10 degrees warmer then the rest of the suburbs.( zone 6 ) Then they also show very few scattered micro climates that are 10 % warmer day and night in the zone 6 areas. The map isnt by streets its by neighborhoods and turns out im in one of the warmest of the warm areas and who knows maybe you are too. So if you have access its a good story.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.
