Palms in yard

Post by Okanagan desert-palms »

We just moved into our new house and I finally can start planting some of my palms, yuccas, bananas next spring :D . I`m thinking my best chances for success are with my larger Trachys and yuccas, basjoos. Here are some photos.

Looking at them makes me drool. You are so lucky to be able get those and have done such a great job of keeping them healthy.

You don't have to be crazy to grow palms in Alberta..... But it helps

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

John, My bananas have been dissapointing so far. I guess i didn't pick the right spot for them. Next year i will find a better spot with less sun. I will take some pics near the end of September and post them.

John,
Great collection of palms. Have you got any good sized sabals or needles?

Wes I have lots of Sabal Louisiana, S. minor. I will be ordering some 10 gallon needles for the spring. Needles are hard to find on the west coast!
