Here are a few pics of the back yard. I've finally got everything planted that I wanted this year; Blue Satin Hibiscus (now in bloom!) and Helene Hibiscus, just about to bloom. Next year will look better as everything fills in. Both Hibiscus' are supposed to get 10 ft. high and as wide, as well as the Butterfly Bush in the corner with the 3 yellow Cannas. In the middle, flanking the Yucca are Black Eyed Susans. I had dug up and divided the previous ones and put them around the Musa nanners. In the forefront, Arizona Sun Blanket flowers, Bronzed Stonecrop, red Dianthus carnations (finished blooming), giant Day Lilies and some lavender. my 2 Trachys have been in the ground now for over a year and I bought 2 more Musas while waiting for the new pup I separated last year to get some growth. Slowly but surely it's getting there, but I got impatient! I'll post some 'then and now' pics of the Trachys soon, as they've really pushed out the leaves this year!
Thanks for looking!

Hi Heidi,
Your trachys are looking really good now, I'm glad that grew out of that stage they where in early this year. Nice to see you picked up some larger basjoo's too. If you can try not to cut any of the babies off this year and you'll have a much happier plant next year
Thanks Erik and Scotty - my blood, sweat and tears! I had to dig a trench around the perimeter of the retaining wall which naturally carved out a 'pathway' so I filled it with some left over lava rock. I went from there. It's taken 3 years to complete the look. I figured some Hibiscus would add that tropical flare I'm looking for!
Bill - thanks for the tip on the nanners. I'm glad I got them too. I'll leave them untouched! Each year is trial and error and I've learned so much. I'm so relieved about the Trachys too, their leaves are coming out flawless! I just bought spotlights for each of them so they look really nice at night.
