Miracle Butia capitata!!!

Post by Okanagan desert-palms »

Here is some pics of a large 24"boxed Butia that lost it`s spear April 2009. I thought it was a goner and just kind of left it out of sight watering only once in a while. Now that it is recovering it will get the best of care. The other pics are of some of my other Butias and T. fortunei.

Wow John that is a miracle palm, one year without a spear  I didn't sit outside over the winter did it?
Very cool!!! That guy deserves special treatment for sure.

Thanks guys. Bill the Butia was put outside around the middle of March 2009 . It must have had some spear rot issues before I put it outside. Jim that`s a great story. Butias are tough as nails.
