Chrysalidocarpus lutescens is quite likely what you have there. It's routinely called an areca palm - (no relation to the true Areca genus.)
Many millions of these die every year since they're poor candidates for indoor cultivation, without meeting specific requirements. Outdoor situations in zone 10b or milder.

I agree with Barrie. This"Areca" is sold in tons in Hungary. There is a nice marketing ad going with it telling you that only children can climb up these slender trees in Africa.. Sounds so exotic and most of them never reach the stage of real trunk formation :-(
