Cold intensifying?

Post by hardyjim »

Looks like we are headed into the coldest part of the winter over the next 6 weeks.
They predicted -5(F) last night but...

The forecast here was way off. After I went to sleep last night the temp plummeted.
I woke up to find -12(F) on the thermometer!Somewhere north in the state(Spencer Iowa)hit -36(F)!!!!!
Happily my protection for Trachys stayed around 30(F)the unheated (so far) snow covered G-house 12(F)the Washy's temp is controlled by a thermocube so,it stays between 35 and 45 and warmer if the sun is out.
So far so good but I don't think the worst is over yet-

I was reading today that there MAY be another dump of Arctic air next week AND that it may be colder than this one-)-:

to be continued...............................

Hope your weather eases up soon Jim. I'm still in Mass. It's been snowing off and on the last couple of days.I need a new radiator before I leave. Plus one of the fridgerators crapped out in one of my apartments. There talking about frost in Fla the next few days, guess it's cold everywhere. I'll be able to seek out the tougher plants.
