there's alot room left for plants
...as long as nobody has to step indoors anymore

Anybody care to guess how many types / plants are in there (do you know, Steve?)
My guess is 47 types / 320 total plants.

I admire their vigor/health...not a dried crispy frond or petiole anywhere.
The man's a genius!

Thanks Kent! It's going to get a bit more crowded when all the outside stuff comes back in :D

Barb, If I was a genius, I'd have a 5 acre Palm & Cycad garden on the Belize coast, instead of a greenhouse made out of old windows in the middle of Kansas

A quick count is about 23 flats of seedlings in cups. Each flat holds 18 cups, so about 414 cups......
Then all the stuff in 1 gallons on up, plus the in ground stuff, I haven't a clue :D

Looks great.

Only suggestion - needs a day bed for those winter months where you just need some tropical views.

Your Robusta seems to be going upwards, rather than mine which is going upwards, but fattening at the base.

Hi Taylor,

That robusta was in a shady spot for a couple years before the addition was built around it,
(I never took the sides down, so the petioles just kept stretching out....)

Image

It's getting more light now and the newest leaves are more compact.
(which is great, gives me another year before I have to worry about raising the roof above it!

The daybed is a good idea, but I'll have enough the the house with no need to go outside :D

So, easily close to 600 plants!

I'm stopping at my current 24 palms! Won't even count the other stuff.
I may be sleeping on a cot this winter.

Steve the ever expanding greenhouse with that many plants. Great job it will be interesting to watch everything grow up and the greenhouse get larger.
