Just some plants that I grow near Liverpool in UK.. some in flower now but lots to come!

Very Cool stuff. Now I have a new plant to look up (Echium pininana).

Echiums are funny plants, quite tender, but like bamboo they just send up shoots all over the place, so it's very unlikely even in a cold climate you will lose an Echium. Being from the Canary Islands, off Africa, they love dry ground and full sun (most of central USA qualifies for that!) and heat in summer, again USA perfect. In reality the only thing that keeps them alive in the UK is the mild winter temperatures, otherwise they wouldn't do that well at all. Worth trying one and perhaps wrapping it for the winter.
