CIDP inside

How well do Canaries do inside, generally? This is assuming a sunny room. I am thinking of trying some of the Canaries I am growing for such a life.

I have several 3-4 strapleaf seedlings inside that I have had no problems with( mites,etc)

I have seen these advertised as inside plants and they probably would do great for several years. Eventually they will want to bust out of their pots and become the towering monster that lurks in every CIDP's heart.

I had one in a five gallon bucket that did very well, but they grow big and fast. I would have it outside untill november. It was so big though, when I moved I left it in the rental

And it got very heavy to move inside and outside, but was very cool

I have three inside this year. Two are 4 years old and one is 6yrs. I over winter them inside and in IOWA winter is 6 months long. They are doing fantastic, no mites, very tolerant of indoor conditions and central heat ducts blowing right on them. The only problem is size....not so tall, but really big around. one is 6feet around already and the others are not far behind. So if you do not have the room, leave it outside. The only other tropical that covers as much circular square footage is the Pineapple.
I use a dolly to move them around. with the pot and plant, I would guess each one weighs somewhere around 80lbs....maybe more. But hey, you can never pick a pot too big.....that root system fills in every square inch of even the biggest pot.

Make sure you have lots of room around them as they are sharp and they get big quickly.
