Brahea armata

This is the Brahea armata I had to dig up. I potted it over winter & replanted it about a month ago. New spear coming along.

That is surprising to me. I was told they are very root sensitive and almost impossible to transplant and yet you did it twice with this one.
That is encouraging because I may have to move mine one day.

Wes I think the trick is to remove all but a few fronds when transplanting (Just like Sabals).

Laaz, How log did it take for your Brahea to reach that size. I have three potted that i grew from seed and it seem they are going to be real slow growers compaired to say, washingtonia robusta.

Jimmie it's about 4 years old. I just got 100 more seed I have started this fall.

Todd, why did you dig it up? I would think brahea armata could handle your winters if kept dry.

Hey Craig. I had to move it from where it was. It was under my Hirado Butan Pumelo & was getting shaded out & starting to lean towards the sunlight. It has put on three new fans since transplant.
