Saw Palmettos

Post by Eriktampabay »

I have a friend of a friend in florida who is going out of buisness. Saw palmettos blue green and silver he only wants orders of 50 or more at wholesale prices 3 gallon to 5 gallon $10.00 a piece for plants that are going for $35.00 in most places, I heard its a good deal but I don't know much about saw palmettos. I do know they are hardy but slow growers. Anyone else have any input on the saw palmetto in the pacific northwest.

I grow them in Alabama. They require lots of heat and sun. If you can grow pindo palms they might do O.K for you. Probably a southern exposure very close to a brick/concrete wall would be best. Their roots should be kept on the dry side also.

What about fertilizing them. I have been told that they do not require fertilizing.
