I am now a firm believer in leave trimming

I was always told that Dioon Edule are super slow growers.
I received one that had some old leaves on it which I had to cut about 3-4 leaves off after it went to a little trans shock but left two good leaves on. Shortly after the Edule flushed, but I still left the two old leaves on. After the new flush came in and established itself, the two old leaves made the tree look a little strange so I cut them off. That was in Mid June. I just checked and I have a new flush starting on it again. So thats two flushed on an Edule in less than three months. This tree is a caudex size of about a PineApple.

I think I agree with the trimming.
Here's my Zamia vasquezii that was chewed to bits last month. New and clean flush.

Barb, your Zamia vasquezii looks nice aswell. It looks like it's coming back from the leaf chewings. Makes me wish I hadn't gave all of my Zamia vasquezii seeds away. I'll get some more later. I hope.
